The Bols Cocktail 30 or 60 minutes workshop combines multimedia exhibits, interactive installations and a workshop where you learn the art of mixology. You will make two different cocktails and afterwards you can also another freshly prepared cocktail in the mirror bar.
After scanning your e-tickets, the host will give you the audioguide and you can put your belongings in the free locker.
In the first room you will learn all about the Bols family, their distillery and how they innovated the liquor world. You will also see original recipe books from the 1700, bottles and other centuries old bartending objects. In the following rooms you will smell different aromas and spices: orange, strawberry, clove and even cacao.
Before you go to the workshop you will have the chance to practice your cocktail knowledge and shake skills in the interactive installations.
The worksop bar is modern, well equipped with crushed ice, glasses, strainer and shaker. During the workshop you get to use, combine and try the different Bols genevers and spirts.
The experience ends in the Mirror Bar, where a professional bartender will make a fresh cocktail of your choice. The full experience takes about 1.5 or 2 hours depending on the length of the workshop you choose, but you can definitely stay a longer at the bar!

This is one of our favorites hidden gems activities in Amsterdam. Not only because of the cocktails, but also because of the immersive activities and the friendly hosts. In the last years they have also added new interactive elements, which really elevated the fun!
We have been more than three times, and it’s always been very relaxed. Some of the visitors go straight to the workshop and others stay at the mirror room, so it’s never too crowded. This makes it the perfect mix between museum and bar.

The museum experience lasts about one hour, the workshop can last 30 minutes or one hour depending on which one you book. Since you can visit on your own pace, you can stay as long as you need.
The experience is located in the Museumplein area. You can park in the Q-park parking lot at Van Baerlestraat 33 B, 1071 AP Amsterdam. From there it’s just around 5 minutes walking.

You can take the tram 2, 5 or 12 From Amsterdam Centraal Station. Step out in Museumplein and from there it is about a 3-minute walk to the experience.
During the tour we learned some interesting facts: The palace is build on top of 13.659 wooden poles. The building has served as a palace since 1808. The Atlas statue represents Amsterdam as the middle of the world.
