Eight rooms of light, music and festival culture in a one hour. AMAZE takes you from the origin of sound through a laser show, a mirror maze and other surprising rooms. This is the only experience in Amsterdam built entirely around electronic music and the closest thing to a festival the city has indoors.
AMAZE Amsterdam is located in an iconic location in Amsterdam. The place where the first illegal raves in the city were held. Once inside, you will follow a fixed route through eight diverse spaces inspired in the Dutch electronic dance culture.
Each room has its own atmosphere and theme. Some rooms are filled with powerful lasers and electronic music, while others use projections, smoke and visual illusions.
There are also rooms where you interact the installations by making your own festival light show or music beats. The combination of music, lights and digital art creates an energetic and surprising experience.
The first room we walked into felt as if we were stepping into the opening of a festival. There is nothing else in the city built entirely around electronic music, light, art installations and festival culture. The rooms move from the Origin tunnel through the mirror maze, the club, the DJ station in La La Land and the final room was my favorite, I won’t tell you so you can be surprised when you visit!
The groups are kept small (8 persons) so we felt quite comfortable. As a group we followed the orange light from one room to the other. There were two rooms where we controlled the lights and sound. I won’t be starting a new career as a DJ, but had fun trying!
For the price, the value is strong. I do appreciate that they have different deals. You get discount when buying two and four tickets. Families (two adults and kids) also get discount and of course students as well. You can also get a 15% additional discount per person when using our code: citymap15.
The location feels further than it actually is: you can take one direct bus from Centraal Station and be there in about 25 minutes. The same amount of time as going to the Rijksmuseum. The only downside is that there aren’t many other activities around the location, but you can always stay for a drink at the AMAZE(ING) bar!
Visit AMAZE If you are a electronic music lover, enjoy digital art and lights shows, or just want to do something completely different!
Book your activity in under a minute and secure your spot. No hassle, choose your date, reserve instantly, and get ready for an unforgettable experience.

From Amsterdam Central Station, there are different ways to reach the experience:
The easiest way is to take the bus 22 to station Sloterdijk and step out in Contactweg (the 9th stop). Then you walk about 5 minutes. It’s about a 25 minute journey in total.

Unlike a traditional museum where you stare at a frame, here, the art crawls up the walls (and you). You will spend the whole show feeling the music vibrate and compelled by the movement of the artworks. It’s really a place where you step into the art, cliche, I know, but true!.
During the tour we learned some interesting facts: The palace is build on top of 13.659 wooden poles. The building has served as a palace since 1808. The Atlas statue represents Amsterdam as the middle of the world.
