Ajax stadium tours

Legendary footballers have walked these halls. Now it's your turn. The stadium tours takes you through the dressing rooms where the players prepare, down the tunnel they walk on match day, and into the dugouts where the most iconic moments in Ajax history were made. Besides you can see the trophy collection, the Gallery of Fame, the authentic clothing of Johan Cruijff and other international players.

The experience

The Johan Cruijff Arena sits in Amsterdam Zuidoost, about fifteen minutes from Centraal Station by metro or train. Home to AFC Ajax since 1996, the stadium has hosted Champions League finals, international matches and some of the most iconic moments in Dutch football history. The arena tours let you walk the same spaces as the players the dressing rooms, the tunnel, the dugouts on days when the stadium is yours to explore.

There are three tours to choose from, depending on how much time you have and how deep you want to go.

Self-guided tour | 🎟️ €27.50 | πŸ•˜ 45 to 75 minutes

You explore the stadium at your own pace, without a guide. The route covers the trophy collection, the Gallery of Fame, authentic clothing and personal items from Ajax players across the club’s history, and historic match footage. The self-guided format means you can spend as long as you like in the sections that matter most to you. Includes 10% discount at the Ajax Fan Shop and CafΓ© Jopie.

Guided tour Β | 🎟️ €38 Β | πŸ•˜ 75 minutes

A knowledgeable guide leads you through the stadium, adjusting the tour to your interests and questions along the way. The route covers everything in the self-guided tour (the trophy collection, Gallery of Fame, historic footage)Β  and adds the areas that make this tour worth the upgrade: the dressing rooms, where the players prepare before every match, and the players’ tunnel leading out to the dugouts. You walk the same path that Ajax players walk on match day. Includes 10% discount at the Ajax Fan Shop and CafΓ© Jopie.

VIP tour | 🎟️ €62 | πŸ•˜ 2 hours

Everything in the guided tour, plus access to exclusive areas of the stadium with a VIP pass. You will feel like royalty on the Royal box, reserved fo the royal family. The tour includes an exclusive Ajax scarf and a drink in the Sky Lounge, with one of the best views in the stadium. This is the most complete version of the experience, for anyone who wants to see every corner of the arena.

    have strategized and celebrated.Β
  • Learning about the stadium. The Johan Cruijff ArenA is the largest stadium in the Netherlands, besides football matches it has also hosted big concerts of Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Coldplay.

Our 4.7 rating ⭐️

Walking through the Johan Cruijff Arena gives you a completely different perspective on a stadium you’ve probably only ever seen on television.Β

The guided tour is the one we recommend. For €10.50 more than the self-guided option, you get a knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic guide, access to the dressing rooms and the players’ tunnel, and stories from matches that make the spaces come to life. Walking out of the tunnel towards the dugouts is worth the upgrade!

The self-guided tour works well if you prefer to move at your own speed. The trophy collection, Gallery of Fame and historic footage are all included, and the 45 to 75 minute format gives you flexibility. Good for football enthusiasts who already know the history and want to experience the space at their own terms.

The VIP tour is for anyone who wants to see every corner of the stadium. Including the royal box, a drink in the Sky Lounge and an Ajax scarf to take home. If you’re a serious Ajax supporter or inviting someone who is, this is the right choice.

One practical note worth knowing: the guided tour is in either English or Dutch. The arena is about 20 minutes from Centraal Station by metro. There were no queues on the day we visited, and the whole experience ran smoothly from start to finish.
