A complete lunch or dinner with dessert in one of the best-located restaurants in the city. Good food, generous portions and enough rock memorabilia to feel as if you are eating in a museum. The restaurant sits five minutes from Museumsquare and Leidseplein, the ideal place to eat between museums and sightseeing.
The Acoustic Menu includes a main course, soft drink and dessert. For the main dish you can choose between a burger with fries or a Caesar salad. The dessert is a rich brownie with whipped cream. From Monday to Friday you get a 20% discount on your acoustic menu by showing this website.
After eating, the restaurant doubles as a walk-through rock music archive. The walls are covered in guitars, album covers, stage costumes and personal items from artists. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff welcoming.
You can find the iconic Hard Rock shirts in the store. Besides the shirts there are also collectors pins, guitar picks, caps and other merchandise. You can get €5 discount on your purchase, starting from €50.
The Rock Bar, accessible through the store, has a different energy, high stools, a full bar, exposed brick walls and industrial details. Worth a look even if you’re staying for lunch in the main restaurant!
We ordered the legendary smashed burger and the chicken burger with fries. We were surprised of how good the burgers are! The bun is really soft, the onions were properly caramelized and the fries were crunchy and salted right. The menu also offers a vegetarian burger option!
The vibe of the restaurant is cosy, the tall windows make the room bright even on a grey Amsterdam afternoon. Every wall is covered in guitars, stage costumes and album covers.
The price-quality is balanced. We had a great lunch for €27.50 per person. In Amsterdam is very normal to pay around €25 per person for a drink and a main dish and here you even get dessert.
The location is very convenient. You can walk from and to the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein in about 5 minutes. The metro stop Vijzelgracht and tram stop Leidseplein are also close by.
Eat here if you are a rock music lover or just want a good place to have a complete delicious lunch close to Museumplein or Leidseplein!

Unlike a traditional museum where you stare at a frame, here, the art crawls up the walls (and you). You will spend the whole show feeling the music vibrate and compelled by the movement of the artworks. It’s really a place where you step into the art, cliche, I know, but true!.
During the tour we learned some interesting facts: The palace is build on top of 13.659 wooden poles. The building has served as a palace since 1808. The Atlas statue represents Amsterdam as the middle of the world.
